Many thanks to NetGalley, Simon & Schuster | Avid Reader Press for gifting me a digital ARC of this moving memoir by Jen Hatmaker. All opinions expressed in this review are my own - 4.5 stars!
NY Times best-selling author and podcaster had the life that she knew blown up when she woke up in 2020 to her husband carrying on a phone conversation with another woman from their bed. This is her story of going from a funny, popular leader to a self-described wreck, parenting alone 5 kids, and how she came out on the other side.
Apparently I have been living under a rock, and am not of the right age demographic to be very familiar with Jen's story or popularity. But just going through life, we are all going to be faced with situations that rock our world, be it an affair, a medical diagnosis, death, etc. There are so many passages that I highlighted in this book about taking back control of our lives. Not everyone is going to agree with her opinions on some of the subjects she addresses, and I'm not here to discuss her opinions or mine, but this is a book that is well-written, humorous (because humor will get us through lots of those tough days), thought-provoking, and honest.
