Lauryn Harper had a perfect plan for her life until it all fell apart. As punishment for a misunderstanding at work, she is transferred to her company's charity branch in her Virginia hometown. But it's really just a place to stash employees who know too much to be fired, but aren't valuable enough to be in the know any longer. Lauryn's hometown was basically ruined by the same company, and she's horrified to be returning there as a disgraced employee. To make things worse, her best friend, Marina, still lives there and they haven't spoken in over 10 years. So Lauryn comes up with a new plan.
This is the perfect fall book - as Lauryn and her team make preparations to bring back the beloved Apple Festival to the town, you will be thinking of all things fall (except for maybe those special apples!). This is a feel good story about the value of friendship and community, for being able to speak up for yourself, and make changes. I do have to admit to thinking about one of my favorite series, Slow Horses, as I envisioned this group of banished employees! Definitely add this feel good book to your fall TBR list!
