Paul was supposed to be traveling to Venice with his husband, Darren, but when Darren tells Paul that he's moving out, Paul is heartbroken and decides to go on the trip solo. Once in Venice, he becomes obsessed with a street dog he spots, who seems so comfortable being alone.
A quick, enjoyable read, as we see Paul come into his own on his solo adventure. Before, he was uncomfortable on his own and needed someone beside him, but the trip forces him out of his comfort zone. I liked the exploration of Venice from my comfy chair at home as well!
