Leslie left her 3-year-old daughter, Millie, with her stepdaughter, Shelby, while she ran some errands. Then Shelby called her hysterically that Millie was missing and Leslie's world shattered. When the police are interviewing Shelby, Leslie can tell that her stepdaughter is not being completely truthful. Then Leslie receives an anonymous text saying, Your husband is not who you think he is. Plus Leslie is feeling guilty because she hid the real reason that her errands took longer than expected.
Told from the viewpoints of Leslie, Shelby, and Ruth, everyone has secrets they are hiding and Millie is still missing. This is a tense, well-written thriller that will literally have you flipping through the pages as fast as possible. Besides the mystery, it's a story of family, the secrets we keep from each other and ourselves, and coming to grips with our past. Another must-read from Nicole Trope!
